Born in Rochester, New York. Lived in Kansas City and Boulder, Colorado. Sue was an artist for Hallmark Cards after finishing college at the University of Grenoble in southern France. Arrived in Vail in 1968 with son, Kent, and daughter, Leigh. There were less than 100 full time residents in Vail at that time. The family fished, hiked, and camped in what is now Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch. Sue became a real estate professional in 1978. She has served as the President of the Vail Board of REALTORS in 1984 and again in 1997. Sue has served on many committees through the years as a REALTOR, and she is committed to the work she loves. An avid animal lover, Sue has raised cats, dogs, and loves taking care of pets when their owners take a trip or need help caring for their animals. A Rotarian since 1984, Sue is a Paul Harris Fellow, a Member of the 5000 Club, and was Rotarian of the Year 1994-1995. In her spare time, Sue helps with the family coffee business, The Buckaroo Beanery, located in Crested Butte, Colorado. She also rings the bell every Christmas season for the Salvation Army, interviews recipients for college scholarships given by the Vail Eagle Valley Rotary Club, is an avid supporter of Meet the Wilderness, The Literacy Group, and the Humane Society. For many years, Sue has been active distributing food during Thanksgiving and Christmas throughout Eagle County on behalf of the Salvation Army. Before joining Slifer Smith & Frampton in 2004, Sue was an owner of Coldwell Banker Timberline in Vail for 22 years. She was the #1 producer every year but one and was the #5 producer in the State of Colorado for Coldwell Banker. Since joining Slifer Smith & Frampton, Sue has been in the top 3-6 in production out of over 100 brokers in the company each year. She was ranked #31 in 2008 and #249 in 2011 nationally by The Wall Street Journal. Sue is a Certified Residential Specialist, is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute from the University of Colorado and is a Premier Property Specialist. Experience with luxury real estate: I handled the sale of 17 luxury penthouses at Manor Vail. My responsibilities were to help plan rooms, pricing, marketing, pre-sales, open houses, being present at all showings, and negotiating. Pricing was from $4 million to $22 million. Included in luxury experience were sales in Strawberry Park in Beaver Creek, Borders Road, Village Hall, Cordillera (over $5 million), Forest Place and Forest Road in Vail, Mill Creek Circle, Bridge Street Lodge, Pilgrim Downs in the Lake Creek area, and Vail Golf Course highest price ever. Most recently, at our annual company awards, Sue was #1 in sales volume in Vail for 2012. She was named #7 in the state of Colorado for sales volume in 2012 by Real Trends.
